WRPM OWNERS - JEFF & ELIZABETH WITHERELL
Jeff & Elizabeth Witherell, founders of WRPM, have been working together for 20 years. Jeff has an extensive, incomparably unique background in sales, marketing, sponsorship, and special event creation, promotion and coordination. His career began in 1987 in the NASCAR Winston Cup Racing Series, where he began working in the field of corporate sponsorship. His work with various sponsors, teams and drivers led him to become the Vice President of Marketing for Vortex Comics, and he headed up the Busch Grand National Rookie of the Year program in 1991-1992, which included (at that time) rookies Jeff Gordon, Bobby Labonte, and Ricky Craven. Jeff also jumped over to promotion in the music industry at this time doing product endorsements for the legendary rock band Aerosmith. He also promoted the 20th Anniversary of Woodstock, as well as several other music related promotions with "The Road Gang", a coast to coast radio show in which he hosted.
Jeff became well known as the "go to" person for music and motorsports promotions and events. He has worked extensively with Pocono Raceway acting as liaison to Travis Tritt, Billy Ray Cyrus, and their management when they performed post-race concerts following Pocono's seasonal Nextel Cup events. Jeff's marketing and sponsorship expertise moved into new arenas, creating special promotions for the Tennessee Titans and native Tennessee NASCAR drivers, coordinating the Nashville stop for Kyle Petty's Ride Across America. He entered the world of country music by working with Hank Williams Jr. Enterprises and Merle Kilgore Management, in which capacity he worked on tour sponsorship support, commercial endorsements, product endorsements, and private promotional functions. Witherell was granted a letter of engagement by the United States Navy, and created, executed, and obtained sponsorship for the Navy MWR Military Appreciation Tour for Navy Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Divisions throughout the Southeast region of the United States.
Elizabeth brings a 24 year career in business administration to the table, and assists in all aspects of the business. Together, the Witherells have worked with motorsports clients in various series, including the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide, and Camping World Truck Series, ARCA, and the NHRA. They have also produced concerts and race festivals that included drivers and teams from the Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, and the Rolling Thunder Concert Tour (the very first speedway infield stage concert event of it's kind) which performed at Daytona International Speedway, Pocono Raceway, and Talladega Motorsports Hall of Fame. WRPM also created, promoted, and produced the First Annual WAM JAM featuring Montgomery Gentry as a charity event benefitting the Women's Auxiliary of Motorsports. WRPM provides an experienced staff in house and on site to handle all aspects of event and client management, promotion, marketing, and PR services. Under Jeff Witherell's leadership WRPM offers a variety of services for it's clients, much more than most motorsports marketing firms.
